IMPORTANT NOTICE (last updated: Saturday April 11th 2019)

Unfortunately due to the virus my Mothers services are limited to family only ten at a time at the funeral home from 10:30am to 11am on April 15th.

The hearse will then drive by my Mothers house at 99 Grandview Ave Staten Island NY at 11am for one last visit. We encourage friends, neighbors, and family to be there when the hearse passes but to please be mindful of social distancing rules.

We will not be able to have a graveside service but we can be outside the gates of Silver Mount Cemetery April 15th between 11:30am - 11:50am at 918 Victory Blvd Staten Island, NY 10301.

We will have a memorial for my Mother once we get through this crisis. Thank you again for your calls, your post, your strength, and your prayers.

Due to Covid-19 procedures, family and friends will be meeting on April 15th 10:30am-11am at Harmon Funeral Home 571 Forest Ave, Staten Island, NY 10310 to pay their respects and watch the hearse drive by.

Followed by a meeting at the main entrance of the Silver Mount Cemetery between 11:30am - 11:50am at 918 Victory Blvd Staten Island, NY 10301.

Remembering Willamay

Willamay Thompson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at the age of 82 years old. She was born in Staten Island, NY on January 21, 1938. Her successful and life long career was at Willowbrook State School for 41 years, as a recreational therapist and also the local union representative for the New York State Public Employees Federation.

Willamay’s passion was being an advocate for others.  In seperate times she marched along Malcom X and also Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement. She dedicated her life to being an activist, a community leader and a helping hand to everyone she came in contact with. Her favorite hobbies were... crocheting, keeping up with politics, knitting, and spending time with her loved ones

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her son Michael, her daughter Linda, her seven grandchildren, Lil’ Linda, Ashley, David, Mikey, Joshua, Danny, Essence and her six great-grandchildren Irieyanna, Skyler, David III, Kayden, Phoenix and Iris. Her brother Donald, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
